Can I Really Enjoy My Visits To The Dentist?

Can I Really Enjoy My Visits To The Dentist?

Of course, we may be biased, but we really do think you can.

Gone are the days of the unpleasant unapproachable staff and the horrible smelling dental practice with scary looking equipment.

The problem for many lies in those memories, perhaps how they were treated as a child because we do appreciate that those dim dark days in dentistry were just a generation ago.

The good news is that our children are growing up in a much more aware and caring environment so that their experiences of dentistry can be fun, relaxed and pleasant ones.

But Can We Help If You Still Feel The Fear From Bad Experiences?

Yes, there is a lot we can do to help you. Unfortunately we can’t get you to call us or come in but we can encourage you and to make it as easy as possible to get in touch and start the conversation with us.

People who are genuinely terrified delay seeking care, this is something we want to change.

• You can message us through our Facebook or Instagram page
• You can email
• You can ring and talk to one of our friendly team

By getting in touch in any of these ways we can start to find out about you and what your worries and concerns are and just start this conversation outside the surgery setting.

What Happens When I Arrive At The Practice?

By having a nice relaxed chat with one of our team we will hopefully be able to persuade you to come along and actually met us face to face.

Our team will

• Greet you personally
• Explain to you what will happen and who you will see
• Escort you to see your dentist
• Help alleviate your worries by continually explaining what to expect and accompany you

It is important to understand that we know you may be feeling anxious and worried. We want to do everything we can to help you and put you at ease. We want you to have the best dental health possible and we will work with you to discuss options for treatment so you will be able to achieve this.
All our dentists and dental hygienists want you to be relaxed. This takes time, for you to get to know and trust us as well as understand your treatments. We will spend the time with you that you require so you will not feel rushed.

I Just Can’t Face Having Any Treatment

We understand this can be a huge problem for some and whilst we may be able to chat to you and help you feel a s comfortable as possible there are still some patients that cannot comprehend having any dental treatment whilst awake.

For those patients we can provide treatment under Dental Sedation. Our very experienced dentist Dr Rachel Gibbs, provides this care and in this video below you can see her talking to a very nervous lady who has had her treatment completed by Rachel with sedation.

Sedation allows you to be relaxed and have your treatment without all the full impact of a general anaesthetic. Sedation allows you to be relaxed and co-operative whilst still being conscious and so is safe and easy for us to use in the dental practice setting.

Many patients eventually go on to have further treatments without sedation as their confidence builds.

If you would like to talk to us about your anxieties for dental care and perhaps having this type of help then please do get in touch with us on 0161 928 0014. We look forward to helping you.
