Enhancing Smiles with Porcelain and Composite Veneers

At Barrington Dental Care, we offer high-quality dental veneers to enhance the appearance of your teeth. Each veneer is designed around your own smile, so the result looks like your teeth at their best rather than a new set.

What Are Dental Veneers?

Dental veneers are thin porcelain or composite shells bonded to the front surface of your teeth. They are primarily used to enhance the appearance of your smile by addressing issues such as:

  • Stained or discoloured teeth.
  • Chipped or worn teeth.
  • Uneven or misaligned teeth.
  • Gaps between teeth.

Veneers provide a minimally invasive way to achieve a straighter, brighter, and more harmonious smile.

The Benefits of Veneers

Veneers offer transformative results, including:

  • Improved Appearance

    Restore your smile’s natural beauty.

  • A More Even Smile

Close small gaps and correct chipped, worn or uneven teeth in one treatment.

  • Stain Resistance

Porcelain holds its colour, where natural enamel picks up stain over the years.

  • Customised Fit

Each veneer is tailored to match the size, shape, and shade of your natural teeth.

The Treatment Process

  1. Consultation and Planning

Your journey begins with a detailed consultation where we assess your needs and discuss your goals. We’ll take impressions and digital scans to create a bespoke treatment plan tailored to you.

  2. Tooth Preparation

A thin layer of enamel may be removed from the front of each tooth to ensure a natural fit, so the veneer sits flush rather than adding bulk.

  3. Crafting Your Veneers

Using state-of-the-art techniques and high-quality materials, we create custom veneers designed to blend seamlessly with your smile.

  4. Fitting and Final Adjustments

Your new veneers are bonded in place, and we make any necessary adjustments to ensure a comfortable, precise fit.

Dental Veneers Frequently Asked Questions

Are veneers permanent?

Porcelain veneers are designed to be long-lasting, with lifespans of 10–15 years or more with proper care, though they may need replacement over time due to wear or damage. Because a thin layer of enamel is usually removed to fit them, choosing porcelain veneers is a long-term commitment: the tooth will always need a veneer or a crown afterwards.

Porcelain or composite veneers?

Porcelain veneers are made in a laboratory and are the more durable and stain-resistant choice. Composite veneers are built directly onto the tooth in the chair, usually in a single visit, and often with little or no enamel removed — the same technique as composite bonding. They cost less but need polishing or replacing sooner. We will tell you which suits your teeth at the consultation.

Will my veneers look natural?

Yes! We customise every veneer to match the shape, size, and colour of your natural teeth, ensuring a seamless, natural appearance.

Is the procedure painful?

Not at all. We use advanced techniques and local anaesthesia to ensure your comfort throughout the process.
