You do not need to be a registered patient. If you’re in pain or have a broken tooth, call us straight away and we’ll arrange for you to be seen quickly.

    £90

  • Filling, if you need one

    From £216

  • Extraction, if the tooth cannot be saved

Your emergency appointment is included in a membership plan — the membership page shows what that covers. New patients can book a same-day dental emergency for £65 under our current new patient offer. Every fee we publish is on the fees page.

What Counts as a Dental Emergency?

If you are unsure, call and let our reception team judge it — that is what they are there for. These are the reasons people most often ring us:

  • Toothache

pain that keeps you awake, throbs, or does not settle with painkillers.

  • A broken or chipped tooth

whether or not it hurts. Bring any pieces with you.

  • A knocked-out tooth

an emergency measured in minutes rather than hours — see below before you do anything else.

  • A lost filling, crown or veneer

the tooth underneath is exposed and can break further.

  • Swelling of the face or gum

swelling that is spreading, or that affects your eye, breathing or swallowing, needs urgent medical attention — go to A&E or call 999.

  • Bleeding that will not stop

after an extraction or an injury.

  • A broken denture or a problem with a brace

a sharp edge or a loose wire that is cutting your mouth.

How to Get Seen Today

The fastest route to an appointment is the telephone, not the form.

  1. Call 0161 928 0014

During surgery hours, please call us immediately on 0161 928 0014 and our reception team will assess the urgency of your dental emergency and arrange an appointment as appropriate.

  2. Tell us what has happened

When the pain started, whether anything is broken or loose, whether there is swelling, and whether you have taken any painkillers. This is what decides how quickly you need to be seen.

  3. Come in for an examination and diagnosis

An emergency appointment is same-day care for toothache or broken teeth, and includes an examination and diagnosis. We find out what is wrong and get you out of pain.

  4. Agree what happens next

Some problems are settled at that appointment. Others need a filling, a crown, root canal treatment or an extraction — we explain the options and confirm the fee before any further treatment starts.

If a Tooth Has Been Knocked Out or Broken

A knocked-out adult tooth can often be saved, and the key is time — the sooner the tooth is put back into place, the more likely it is to survive. Try not to handle the tooth too much, and certainly not the root.

  1. Find the tooth
  2. If dirty clean by licking with saliva or gently rinsing with water
  3. Re-implant immediately
  4. Bite on a handkerchief
  5. Seek emergency dental care so they can splint the tooth

If you can’t put the tooth back in, place it in milk and seek emergency care immediately.

If a tooth has been broken but not knocked out, those pieces of tooth can sometimes be “stuck” back together, so it is worth bringing the fractured remnants with you. A tooth that has been banged and is now in a different position should also be seen, so it can be repositioned or at least assessed.

Our principal dentist, Dr Monder Zbaeda, has written the full advice — including what to do about baby teeth and which mouthguards actually protect children in contact sports — in what to do when you or your child knocks out a tooth.

Outside Surgery Hours

Outside surgery hours, please call the dental practice on 0161 928 0014 and follow the instructions that will be given on the recorded message.

The first appointment is about relieving the pain and finding the cause. Nobody is asked to commit to a course of treatment while they are hurting.
